Shipping Policies

Morgan State University Bookstore is proud to offer you the most competitive shipping rates. All of our shipments are professionally packed to ensure the safety of your items in route. All merchandise is shipped via United Parcel Service. Shipments requiring expedited shipping are charged a flat rate for extra savings.

Orders are processed within 48 hours of submission, during the store hours of operation (8:00 am -5:00 pm. Items are shipped out during the next business day, with anticipated date of receipt occurring within 7 - 10 working days. Please note that Morgan State University Bookstore does not offer an option for weekend deliveries.

  • Example: Orders submitted on Thursday, requesting 2nd Day Air Shipping may not be received until Tuesday of the following week.

Items ordered during the last two weeks of December will be delayed, as the University is closed for the Winter Break.

Textbook orders will only be shipped locally. We encourage all students to use the “In Store Pickup” option when ordering their course materials.

Return Policy

  • NO CASH REGISTER RECEIPT = NO RETURNS/EXCHANGES! NO EXCEPTIONS!

Textbook Return Policy

With a cash register receipt, textbooks purchased during the current academic term from Morgan State University Bookstore, may be returned/exchanged during the FIRST TWO WEEKS of each semester. Summer and Winter Terms, textbooks may be returned/exchanged WITHIN ONE WEEK after the term begins. BOOKS PURCHASED AFTER THE RETURNS DEADLINE ARE NON-RETURNABLE

Returned/Exchanged books must be in same condition as when purchased. A new book must be clean, with no markings or bent edges; if the book was packaged, the original wrap must be intact. Returned/Exchanged books that are determined to be no longer "In New Condition" by bookstore management may be returned/exchanged at the value of a used book (75% of the new price). Lab Manuals, Student Solutions Manuals, & Study Guides must have all pages intact and absolutely no writing to be considered for a return/exchange. Web Access Codes cannot be returned/exchanged.

General Reading Books Return Policy

study aides may not be retuned or exchanged. General reading books may be returned/exchanged within two calendar days of the date on the cash register receipt.

General Merchandise Policy

Non-book merchandise may be returned/exchanged within ten days from the date on the cash receipt. Items must be in its original sealed package. Clothing must have tags attached and be in resalable condition. All computers, electronics, & computer accessories are non-returnable once opened unless item is defective, and must be accompanied by original packaging.

Software & Special Orders

Software along with items typically not stocked in the Bookstore will be Special Ordered at the customer’s request. All Special Order items must be paid for in advance and shipping charges will apply. Sales of all Special order items are final.

All Refunds/Exchanges are subject to the discretion of Management.


Returning Web Orders (General Merchandise Only)

All items must be returned in the original condition. If the return is due to our error, shipping charges will be refunded.

  • CDs and DVDs must be unopened, still in the shrink-wrap or original protective packaging.
  • Packing list and completed returns form must be included with each return.

Packing list and receipt must be included with each return. Returns missing this information can not be credited. If the return is due to our error all shipping charges will be refunded to the original credit card or account used for payment.

Return Policy Instructions (Web Orders)

Include the packing slip and receipt (receipt can be reprinted on the order history page) with your return. Repackage your item(s) in the original packaging or in an appropriate cardboard box. Using packing material (e.g. Styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap, etc) around your item(s), pack and tape your package securely. Select a carrier that offers you the option to insure and track your package. UPS, FedEx, and USPS all offer this option. Insuring and tracking your package protects you as the shipper and helps ensure your shipment goes to the correct destination in the same condition it was as when you sent it. Write down your tracking number and keep it until Morgan State University Bookstore has refunded your money. Ship your return to the following address:

Arrange for a carrier to pick up your package or drop it off with the carrier. Shipping is the responsibility of the customer and is not refundable, unless due to our error. No credit is given for lost or damaged packages in route to Morgan State University Bookstore. Please insure and track your package. Returns to Morgan State University Bookstore will be refunded to the original credit card or account used for payment unless a different payment option was selected. A refund will be posted to your credit card or account once your return is received and processed. Processing times for returns vary, and may take up to 30 days from the day the return is received for a credit to be transmitted to your credit card or account. It normally takes 2-10 business days for financial institutions to process the transmitted credit request.
